St Bernard's Church
This heritage restoration project of St Bernard's Church in Hartley centred around the careful preservation of the building's stone masonry, ensuring its historic integrity was maintained. The sandstone parapet was carefully repointed using traditional methods to restore both its structural integrity and historical appearance. Significant attention was given to the removal of salt from the sandstone, a critical step in preventing further deterioration. This was followed by the application of lime water, which helped harden and stabilise the stone surface. These masonry works were essential to preserving the building’s heritage fabric, ensuring its longevity while maintaining its original architectural details. The roof sheeting was also refixed, and new lead flashing was crafted to provide lasting protection from the elements.
Middle Head Barracks
The restoration of Middle Head Barracks was driven by a commitment to safeguarding its heritage fabric, meticulously attending to every detail. The windows and trims underwent precise timber work, where only necessary repairs were made to retain as much of the original material as possible. The building was repainted using historically appropriate colours and finishes to enhance its heritage aesthetic while providing long-lasting protection. Plumbing upgrades were carried out to improve functionality without compromising the building’s authenticity. Additionally, the chimney pot was meticulously reconstructed, respecting the original design and craftsmanship to maintain the building’s architectural integrity.

Greycliffe House
Greycliffe House underwent a thorough restoration process, with special attention paid to the preservation of its significant heritage elements. The roof tiles were meticulously removed and sorted, replacing only those that were damaged or deteriorated to maintain the original fabric of the building as much as possible. The project also included exterior painting, using period-appropriate colours and finishes to enhance the building’s historical aesthetic while ensuring durability. The project also included comprehensive gutter repair and the installation of new lead flashing, both critical for effective water management and protecting the structural integrity of the property while respecting its original architectural details.
Yerranderie Regional Park
This project involved replacing the roof sheeting on four buildings in the remote area of Yerranderie, accessible only by 4WD and located four hours from Sydney. The work included the careful removal of the existing sheeting and the installation of durable, weather-resistant materials designed for longevity in the rugged environment. Each building was assessed for structural integrity prior to installation, ensuring optimal performance. The remote location presented unique logistical challenges, requiring meticulous planning for the transport of materials and equipment. This project enhanced the buildings' resilience against the elements while preserving their historical character and functionality.

Hartley Courthouse
At Hartley Courthouse, the restoration focused on replacing the roof sheeting and installing lead flashings to ensure optimal weatherproofing and long-term durability. Additionally, the chimney brickwork was carefully repointed to restore its structural integrity and preserve its heritage nature. Each element was executed with precision, utilising traditional materials and techniques to enhance both the durability and aesthetics of the property. The result was a comprehensive improvement in the building’s protection while maintaining heritage fabric.
Cabin Relocation
This project involved the disconnection of services from two cabins as they were relocated from Abercrombie Caves to Wombeyan Caves. The process included safely disconnecting utilities such as water, electricity, and sewage. After the cabins were moved, services were reinstated, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Additionally, a front veranda was removed and later reinstated on one cabin, while an access ramp was removed and rebuilt for the other. This careful attention to detail not only preserved the cabins' structural integrity but also improved accessibility and enhanced the recreational offerings at Wombeyan Caves.

Strickland House
The project at Strickland House involved repainting and repairing the windows on the third floor. Repainting was executed using a boom lift to access the area safely, applying high-quality paint in colours and finishes that matched the original scheme to preserve the property's heritage features. Detailed timberwork was performed on the windowsills, with repairs and refinishing done to replicate the original craftsmanship and maintain the building's historic character. This approach ensured that both the painting and timberwork retained the property's authentic aesthetic and heritage value.
South Head Fortification
The repair work at South Head Fortification tackled the issue of concrete cancer in the WWII-era bunker, ensuring its structural integrity. The process involved jet blasting with high-pressure water to remove deteriorated concrete and expose the underlying reinforcement. The exposed reinforcement was then treated for rust to prevent further deterioration. Following this, the bunker was re-rendered with a specialised render formulated for coastal environments, ensuring long-lasting protection against moisture and salt exposure. These steps were essential for restoring the bunker’s structural integrity while preserving its historical value.

Shark Beach Surf Club
The renovation at Shark Beach Surf Club focused on the installation of new roof sheeting, helping preserve the historic heritage of the building. The project included carefully removing the old, deteriorated sheeting and installing new sheeting selected to match the original materials and design. This approach ensured the building's heritage fabric was preserved while improving its overall durability and protection.
